Goal!!

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C.S. Lewis

I've always been a goal setter, and that is a good thing. The bad thing is, I tend to not follow through with said goals. I'm going to try to change that this year. I have created a goal to write daily, whether it's about what I did that day, or putting down my hopes and dreams into words, or posting a favorite recipe; I have to write something every day. Now, this shouldn't be a difficult goal for me, as I've always enjoyed writing and find it easier to put my thoughts and opinions into words rather than to verbalize them. The problem is my actually taking the time to do so.

I have a theory on resolutions and why so many people fail at them. First, they make a resolution that is totally out of character for them (like losing 30 pounds in a month), and then wonder why they can't achieve it. Not that losing 30 pounds in a month isn't achievable; it is if you enjoy starving yourself. Resolutions are not things that you say you are going to do, and then they magically happen. Resolutions are life-changing experiences. Keyword here is life changing. One cannot continue to do what one has always done and expect to have different results, or results that they had hoped for.

To everyone out there who is willing to follow my lead, happy goal setting, and don't give up! Whatever the goal may be, no matter how hard it might appear to achieve, remember that the end results will totally be worth it. :)

100 Days To Brave - Day 1

( Click here to order your copy ) I've noticed several of my friends sharing their stories on social media lately with the hashtag #100DaysToBrave, and my curiosity took over so I downloaded the book to my tablet. Let's just say, I think I have found a new favorite daily spiritual devotional.  Perfect. Just what I needed. Something short, sweet and meaningful to add to my day.  The first assignment (day one) is to make a public declaration that you are committing the next 100 days to ‘being brave’. I honestly do not know what this means in my life but I’m beyond excited to find out. Couldn’t we all use a little more bravery in our life? Lately I have been feeling like something is missing in my life. I don't believe in coincidences. I think these next 100 days of brave is God calling to me to dive further into Him. To explore my faith. To embrace and completely utterly surrender to His plan. To not just sit back but to ACT on His plan and make an impact. So toda...

New Chapter in His Life

He did it! Travis graduated high school, and Mom and I were beyond blessed that we were able to fly out and be there with him on his big day.

Friday Night Musings

It dawned on me tonight that I have no life. I'm not sure if it was the fact that I am home, alone, on a Friday night or... yeah, there is no "or". I have no life. So I sit here, glass of wine in hand, and have tried something fairly new. I went to Hobby Lobby last night and loaded up on all kinds of scrap-booking paper, Mod Podge and wooden foundations for my soon-to-be amazingly decoupaged projects.  This one turned out pretty cool, I think. I have no idea what I'm going to do with a decoupaged picture of myself, but whatever. It was a practice run. :) I still have no life, but at least I know how to entertain myself for a few hours without getting into some sort of mischief.
