Find The Light

The time is almost here: Travis, my sweet nephew, you will soon be a high school graduate and I know you are going to do amazing things. I can't begin to describe how proud I am of the young man you have become. Sitting in church last Sunday, the band played the song below, and it is everything that I want to wish you as you begin your new adventure. I love you, infinity times infinity.

"I wish upon you peace
I wish upon you grace
I wish for less of what you want
And more of what you need
I wish upon you an old life
With a heart that stays young
But most of all I wish upon you love
I wish upon you truth
When all you feel is doubt
I hope you know that an open mind
Still knows when to shut things out
I wish upon you a brave heart
That will always rise above
But most of all I wish upon you love
As the sun sets the moon begins to rise
So even in the darkness you'll find the light
You'll find the light
You'll find the light
Yes, even in the darkness you'll find the light
I wish upon you an easy life
I wish upon you hard times
I hope you know that both joy and pain
Each need their moment to shine
I wish you ears that are quick to listen
That you're slow to use that tongue
But most of all I wish upon you love
As the sun sets the moon begins to rise
So even in the darkness you'll find the light
You'll find the light
You'll find the light
You'll find the light
Yes, even in the darkness you'll find the light"

100 Days To Brave - Day 1

( Click here to order your copy ) I've noticed several of my friends sharing their stories on social media lately with the hashtag #100DaysToBrave, and my curiosity took over so I downloaded the book to my tablet. Let's just say, I think I have found a new favorite daily spiritual devotional.  Perfect. Just what I needed. Something short, sweet and meaningful to add to my day.  The first assignment (day one) is to make a public declaration that you are committing the next 100 days to ‘being brave’. I honestly do not know what this means in my life but I’m beyond excited to find out. Couldn’t we all use a little more bravery in our life? Lately I have been feeling like something is missing in my life. I don't believe in coincidences. I think these next 100 days of brave is God calling to me to dive further into Him. To explore my faith. To embrace and completely utterly surrender to His plan. To not just sit back but to ACT on His plan and make an impact. So toda...

New Chapter in His Life

He did it! Travis graduated high school, and Mom and I were beyond blessed that we were able to fly out and be there with him on his big day.

Friday Night Musings

It dawned on me tonight that I have no life. I'm not sure if it was the fact that I am home, alone, on a Friday night or... yeah, there is no "or". I have no life. So I sit here, glass of wine in hand, and have tried something fairly new. I went to Hobby Lobby last night and loaded up on all kinds of scrap-booking paper, Mod Podge and wooden foundations for my soon-to-be amazingly decoupaged projects.  This one turned out pretty cool, I think. I have no idea what I'm going to do with a decoupaged picture of myself, but whatever. It was a practice run. :) I still have no life, but at least I know how to entertain myself for a few hours without getting into some sort of mischief.
