A little early, but whatever...

In the spirit of the holiday, I figured I'd throw together a nice little list that encapsulates a few of the good things in my life for which I should be thankful.

Now, we all know we're all grateful for our family (usually--we basically have no choice in this matter anyhow, and we might as well be thankful that Grandma's around to slip a fiver in your pocket while she still knows who the heck you are), our friends, our health, our jobs in this dick bag of an economy, blah blah blah freakin blah blah.

I get it. You're thankful for boring shit. Cool. Me too. Moving on.

Shit I'm Really Thankful For:

1. Box Wine. Or, if we're being honest--all wine. Especially of the White Moscato persuasion. Just saying.

2. Waking up at 7 am and being like, "God freaking dang it, I don't want to go to work", and then realizing, to your bewilderment and absolute wonder that it's Sunday and you can go back to sleep and dream about Ryan Gosling in his thong. Or whoever/ whatever floats your boat.

3. Putting on your skinny jeans for the first time in months (years?) and they fit. And, you know you look hot. So you flaunt your damn shit.

4. The first bite of a really good cheeseburger. Or veggie burger. Whatever. Both are still really good.

5. When your favorite song of the moment comes on the radio at that perfect moment when you're driving, and you scream it out at the top of your lungs.

5A. When your favorite song from years ago comes on the radio at that perfect moment and it instantly brings you back to an amazing moment in your life. And you scream that shit out at the top of your lungs.

6. Realizing, for the first time in your career, that you're actually really good at your job.

7. That moment when a blob of bird shit lands directly in front of you, less than a foot away, and you're like, "Hell yeah, asshole bird, you missed! You stupid flying butthole!".

8. When you're standing on a particularly long line at the grocery store with your arms filled to the brim because you didn't think you'd actually need a damn cart but you ended up getting like 56 more things than you'd planned to and you're sweating and you're late to be somewhere and then... miraculously... a cashier comes up to you and kindly whispers to  you,"I'm open over here, miss"Fudge yes, you are open, you little munchkin.

9. Really, really good, long hugs from someone you've deeply missed.

10. The moment you catch the eye of a sweet little toddler in your passing and they smile the sweetest, brightest smile you ever saw.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.

I truly hope that whatever it is you're thankful for, you're thankful for every single day, because it's all a gift.

100 Days To Brave - Day 1

( Click here to order your copy ) I've noticed several of my friends sharing their stories on social media lately with the hashtag #100DaysToBrave, and my curiosity took over so I downloaded the book to my tablet. Let's just say, I think I have found a new favorite daily spiritual devotional.  Perfect. Just what I needed. Something short, sweet and meaningful to add to my day.  The first assignment (day one) is to make a public declaration that you are committing the next 100 days to ‘being brave’. I honestly do not know what this means in my life but I’m beyond excited to find out. Couldn’t we all use a little more bravery in our life? Lately I have been feeling like something is missing in my life. I don't believe in coincidences. I think these next 100 days of brave is God calling to me to dive further into Him. To explore my faith. To embrace and completely utterly surrender to His plan. To not just sit back but to ACT on His plan and make an impact. So toda...

New Chapter in His Life

He did it! Travis graduated high school, and Mom and I were beyond blessed that we were able to fly out and be there with him on his big day.

Friday Night Musings

It dawned on me tonight that I have no life. I'm not sure if it was the fact that I am home, alone, on a Friday night or... yeah, there is no "or". I have no life. So I sit here, glass of wine in hand, and have tried something fairly new. I went to Hobby Lobby last night and loaded up on all kinds of scrap-booking paper, Mod Podge and wooden foundations for my soon-to-be amazingly decoupaged projects.  This one turned out pretty cool, I think. I have no idea what I'm going to do with a decoupaged picture of myself, but whatever. It was a practice run. :) I still have no life, but at least I know how to entertain myself for a few hours without getting into some sort of mischief.
